Barely 24 hours after beating Italian qualifier Andrea Guerrieri, he’s back on court for his second round match against Botic van de Zandschlup.

He got past Guerrieri in straight sets so hopefully he didn’t use too much juice so backing up shouldn’t be a drama.

If there is a rabbit out of the hat, Schoolkate didn't find it.

He was valiant, but the Italian No.5 seed was too good in the end and finished that match quickly.

Cobolli had two match points but only needed one, he won it with a booming serve out wide.

The handshake at the net between the two men looked genuinely warm.

Uh oh! Tristan Schoolkate has just been broken at 5-5 in the fourth set, and Cobolli will shortly serve for the match.

Cobilli set it up well -- Schoolkate won the first point, before two forced errors (including a forehand that missed the line by a hair). Cobilli got the break with two big winners.

Can the Perth lad pull a rabbit out of the hat?

It’s an absolute slog between Alexei Popyrin and Alejandro Tabilo.

Popyrin won the first set 6-2, but has lost the following two in tiebreaks, both to a similar scoreline. We're on-serve in the fourth set now.

Popyrin has send down 22 aces and is serving at 70 per cent, but he’s only winning 72 per cent of points on his first serve – Tabilo is up at 85 per cent.

It's a tight match, and we could be going to five.

Sweeny, from Penrith, has earned just over $1 million in prize money throughout his career so far.

With today’s win he secures at least $402,000 for reaching the third round.

At one stage the 25-year-old walked away from tennis because he was struggling to get results.

“Tennis can change at the flip of a coin, you’ve just got to keep persevering, and that’s what I did,” he says.

“I wasn’t getting results for a long while, but the law of probability, I knew it was going to swing in my favour if I just kept going, and I did. Now I’m here.

“Best decision I ever made to come back after that two months (away).”

Dan Sweeny is almost lost for words after that victory.

“I don’t know, I’m so grateful to be able to compete in grand slams, I put a lot of work in,” he says on court.

“Tennis such a rollercoaster, I’m so incredibly grateful to play in front of this crowd, tand to soak up the win... it’s awesome.”

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!

Dane Sweeny scores “the biggest win of his life” and knocks 13th seed Lornzeo Musetti out of the US Open!

That is a monstrous performance, even though Musetti was hampered during the match.

Sweeny, 25 and world No.123, secures a payday of $402,000 for making the third round for the first time.

It will more than DOUBLE his earnings for the year so far.
