Paul Pogba reacts to Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona move as Manchester United exit now imminent

Bryan Mbeumo is poised to finalise a move to Manchester United, but his arrival will coincide with Marcus Rashford’s exit.

Attacking changes were always going to be the focus of Manchester United’s summer.

United simply didn’t score enough goals in the Premier League last season, and Ruben Amorim is shuffling his pack.

Matheus Cunha joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this summer, and Bryan Mbeumo is now set for a move to Old Trafford.

Talks to sign Mbeumo have been long and drawn-out, but a deal is finally imminent – just as Marcus Rashford heads for the exit.

Rashford is set to sign for Barcelona on loan, with the Catalan giants holding the chance to sign him permanently in 2026.

Rashford has been completely frozen out by Amorim and spent the second half of last season on loan Aston Villa.

Now back with United, Rashford has no chance of working his way back into Amorim’s plans, and another loan move is imminent.

United will ultimately hope for a permanent deal in the near future, while Rashford will now go and compete with Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal.

Paul Pogba has now had his say on Rashford’s move, while speaking to YouTube streamer iShowSpeed.

Pogba admitted that the move is ‘crazy’, but he is happy to see Rashford making such a huge move to the Camp Nou.

The Frenchman feels United are losing a ‘great player’, but believes Amorim must go with the players he trusts in order to win at United – and avoid the sack.

Pogba believes the move is ‘great’ for Barcelona, seemingly feeling that Rashford has the quality to make a big impact.

“It’s crazy, I’m happy for him,” said Pogba.

“Manchester United, they’re losing a great player — unlucky for them, but the coach arrives… that would be great, that’s great for Barcelona, to be honest.

“I’m not even talking about Manchester United, they bought a few players and the new manager wants to do his thing, I guess. It’s not really his fault, is it? If he doesn’t believe in someone, he needs to win, at the end. If he doesn’t play well, he doesn’t win, they’re going to sack him. I’m happy for Marcus, though,” he added.

Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford both set for Champions League action

United lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur in May and won’t have any European football this season as a result.

Pogba and Rashford will both play in Europe’s top competition this season, though, and they could even lock horns at some point.

Monaco have recently signed Pogba after finishing third in Ligue 1, booking their place in the Champions League this season.

Barcelona won La Liga and will be able to unleash Rashford in the Champions League, as they look to improve on last season’s semi-final finish.

Pogba and Rashford will both have points to prove for different reasons, and would love to prove their quality on the biggest stage as they both receive fresh starts.
