A place in the championship match is at stake at the semi-finals of the 2025 US Open (24 August-7 September).

The closing weekend of the final tennis Grand Slam of the season is creeping up, as players stand a match away from competing for major silverware in New York City, USA. First up are the women’s singles semi-finals on Thursday (4 September), followed by the men the following day on Friday (5 September).

There will be a returning female finalist at Flushing Meadows, but only one, when world number one Aryna Sabalenka meets USA home hope Jessica Pegula.

It was Sabalenka who triumphed in 2024 as she now bids for a third consecutive US Open final, while Pegula aims to become the first American woman to reach consecutive finals here since Serena Williams six years ago.

Over in the men’s draw, a blockbuster clash awaits in a rematch of the Paris 2024 gold medal match. Four-time US Open champion Novak Djokovic and world number two Carlos Alcaraz meet for the ninth time, and only the second occasion since their Olympic showdown.
