Chelsea: Second and third Blues centre

Chelsea defenders Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi are targets for clubs this summer, after the agreement to sell Trevoh Chalobah was revealed.

The Blues currently have nine options at centre-back, having recently signed Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace. Xabi Alonso has already stated he wants to thin that to four or five.

English defender Chalobah's exit to Como has been reported, and two more central defenders could follow him out the door.

Firstly, Fabrizio Romano has given the latest on the future of Badiashile.

He said: "Keep an eye on Benoit Badiashile, because Napoli also are genuinely interested in Badiashile. Napoli are talking to the agents of the player and they are keen on the move. Then we have to understand if they can close everything on the formula.

"Napoli want an initial loan for Badiashile, so the will be a conversation between the two clubs about that. But Napoli are keen on Badiashile and so Chelsea could make money from Italy in the next days and weeks."

Beyond that potential move, Disasi could also depart, with Fabrice Hawkins revealing Palace want the Chelsea man after losing Lacroix to the club.

He states the Eagles are set to lodge an offer for Disasi, with club-to-club talks currently ongoing.

The Frenchman is said to be the priority target at Selhurst Park, while he also has interest from clubs in Italy.

Chalobah deal done

The aforementioned deal for Chalobah to head to Como was revealed by Romano on August 3.

He states the entire package is €36million (£30.8m), with the Blues inserting a sell-on clause into the deal.

Chalobah was keen on the move to Italy, particularly to play under Como boss Cesc Fabregas, with Champions League football also a big factor.

Chelsea won't play in the elite European competition this season, while the Serie A club are embarking on their first-ever campaign at that level after finishing fourth in Italy's top flight last term.

Chalobah has played in it in three separate seasons, having also played knockout football, so is likely going to be a useful asset for Como in the coming campaign.
