Rohit, aged 38, last represented India in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in February, leading the team to their second consecutive ICC title following the T20 World Cup victory in the Americas in 2024. After being replaced by Shubman Gill as India's ODI captain, Rohit is set to return to action in a three-match series against Australia, beginning October 19 in Perth. Rohit has been selected for the Australia ODI series alongside Virat Kohli, with both senior players having retired from Tests and ODIs in the past year. The duo, along with newly-appointed ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer, will join the Indian team currently playing against West Indies in the second Test in New Delhi. The team will depart for Australia in two separate groups on October 15.
