Lindsey Vonn health update after shocking Winter Olympics ski crash and hospital airlift

Chemmy Alcott has just shared an update on the BBC about Lindsey Vonn:

I was just speaking to Enrica Cipriani, who is part of the ‘Team Vonn’. She said the good news is that Lindsey Vonn’s doctor, who did her knee, was here on the hill and was able to get in that helicopter with her.

They are currently in Cortina. The helicopter has landed, but she won’t be going to the local hospital, as it can’t deliver what she needs. Likely she’ll be going over to Innsbruck.

But even Enrica didn’t have an update, very hard to be part of that team who have sacrificed everything. Her husband Chris Knight is Lindsey Vonn’s coach, so she’s just trying to keep it together and deal with what can be handled.

Team GB sketelton disappointed but not deterred by helmet ban

The British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association's executive performance director, Natalie Dunman, insists that their new helmets being banned will not affect athletes at the Winter Olympics.

Based on the strength of the case we put forward, naturally we are disappointed in [the] decision. However, this does not affect our final preparations and nor has the discourse affected the athletes' focus or optimism going into the Games. Our athletes have been winning medals all season, and throughout the Olympic cycle, in their current helmets and we remain in a strong position to continue that trend.
