Report: UNC Firing Bill Belichick Imminent for Stunning Reason

0
A huge new report claims that Bill Belichick is in danger of being fired as the head coach of North Carolina, barely over a month into his first season with the program.

Earlier this week, a new exposé revealed details on the dysfunction at North Carolina as players and their families grow frustrated with the six-time Super Bowl winner. In that report, it was revealed that Tar Heels’ cornerbacks coach, Armond Hawkins, was suspended recently after it was found he had violated NCAA rules by giving extra benefits to the relatives of athletes in the form of on-field passes.

Following that revelation, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio boldly speculated that Hawkins’ suspension could be the breadcrumbs from a whole loaf of illegal practices that would help UNC move on from Belichick without having to pay his $20 million buyout.

Well, it seems he was not the only one pondering such ideas, because there is fire creating the smoke that emerged this week. On Wednesday, Andrew Jones of 24/7 Sports reported, “There are many other violations that have occurred, many on the recruiting front.”

Due to the mounting evidence of violations by the NFL legend and his staff, UNC administrators have begun “potential exit strategy discussions.” The concerns by the school are so serious that Jones believes there is a very real chance Bill Belichick will be fired before North Carolina’s game against California this weekend.

Bill Belichick’s path to possibly being fired by North Carolina

Belichick has had a bumpy ride in year one as the head coach of the Tar Heels football program. Heading into Week 7, UNC owns a 2-3 record and has been blown out by any team with a pulse that they’ve played. That alone isn’t a fireable offense. However, the former New England Patriots coach has brought off-field drama to the program for months.

His ongoing relationship with his 50 years younger gal pal Jordon Hudson has been the source of headlines for all the wrong reasons since taking the job. Plus, his ongoing beef with his former employer and the pettiness he has shown toward them in recent weeks have put an even more negative light on the program. Potential NCAA violations seem like the final straw.
