Man United transfer news LIVE: Mateus Fernandes twist, Ederson latest, Sandro Tonali stance

Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga has reportedly rejected Manchester United and chosen Arsenal as his next club. The 16-year-old is widely considered to be one of the most exciting young English players in the country.

However, Team Talk understands Monga has set his sights on joining Arsenal, despite interest from United, Manchester City and Chelsea. The Gunners have been tipped to pay between £10m and £15m for his signature.

Manchester United icon Nicky Butt has urged the club to go all out for West Ham United midfielder Crysencio Summerville.

Speaking via the Mirror, Butt said: "He's an explosive player, he's good to watch, but I don't think he's consistent enough. However, the money shouldn't be a lot to get him, and United have to build a squad.

"It can't be all about going and getting the superstar signings. Summerville was brilliant for the Netherlands in the first game, so he could potentially start every week for Man United. I'm looking at him thinking he's got to get a lot more consistent to get to the next level. But I'd still definitely look at signing a player like him."

The ex-Red Devils midfielder added: "We've got to build the squad, the bench has got to be stronger. When you play a team and see their starting 11 but then they've got another four that can come on and make a difference, that's massive.

"When United played Leeds at Old Trafford last season and they got beat, the players on the bench and around the squad weren't good enough. When they're all fit they're really good but they still need to build the squad so I'd be going for some players like that as well."

David Beckham looks set to sign Casemiro for Inter Miami as a free agent - but is still expected to shell out as much as £750,000 for the Brazilian. That is because of a controversial MLS transfer rule called the "discovery clause".

In Laymans terms, because Casemiro had also reportedly been in talks with LA Galaxy, Beckham may have to pay his former club close to £1m, as the Los Angeles side has been classed as the team who had discovered him, despite Casemiro also featuring for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Porto in the past.

Ederson all but told the media his move to Manchester United was complete. The Brazilian did not feature in his country's recent 3-0 victory over Haiti.

However, after the game he found time to speak to Tuttosport It was there he said his move to Old Trafford was "practically done".

He added: "I have to make the most of this moment. I am here and it is a wonderful thing, something you must always live to the fullest.”

The only thing missing from the deal is the official announcement and a picture of him posing with the shirt. It's understood he will arrive as a £38.8million signing from Atalanta.

Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has urged the club to hijack Liverpool's move for Yan Diomande. The Ivory Coast forward has been impressive for the West African side in the World Cup.

However, Liverpool have been heavily pursuing the RB Leipzig forward. Saha insists his former club should look to gazump their traditional rivals to sign the left-winger.

Saha said via the Metro: "Man United should definitely hijack Liverpool’s interest in Yan Diomande. This type of winger now dominates football.

"When you have that confidence and simplicity in your game, to dribble, pass, be physical, and be courageous, I love that. Those styles are amazing.

"I think Diomande had a great opening game at the World Cup, and it’s been a year with Leipzig where he’s done really well.

"I am pleased to see that kind of career because it was not easy starting in the US and now being a superstar. I think he can be a superstar like Lamine Yamal."

Gary Neville believes Manchester United should take a closer look at Borussia Dortmund and Germany's Felix Nmecha. The midfielder has been impressive for the Germans at the World Cup.

With deals for Tonali or Fernandes looking like expensive prospects, Neville thinks United should consider a move for the Dortmund ace. He said: "The more he [Nmecha] plays like he did the other night the more expensive he'll get. But at the moment, we hear Manchester United are being quoted £100m for the West Ham boy Fernandes.

"So they're going to have to be looking around this tournament and parts of Europe. He looked outstanding the other night, it looked like he had absolutely everything."

One reason for the immense interest may be the fact he only has one year left on his contract. At the end of the month, he will enter the final year of his deal.

If Michael Carrick's side decide to try and sign him, United may use his contract situation as leverage to try and sign him.

In the past, Manchester United have been linked with Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzke and former AC Milan ace Franck Kessie.

While both players would have cost huge money at the time, they are set to be available for nothing in the summer. Goretzka is expected to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent after the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Kessie is also set to leave Al-Ahli as a free agent as well. Both players also have many years left in the tank with Goretzka only 31 and Kessie 29.

Louis Saha has challenged Manchester United to “hijack” Liverpool’s pursuit of Yan Diomande this summer.

Diomande is in demand this summer and is wanted by both Liverpool and PSG, but RB Leipzig are determined to keep hold of their 19-year-old winger and want him to sign a new contract.

Liverpool have made it known they are ready to commit to a package worth up to £86m for the Ivory Coast international, but Saha has called on his old club to “hijack” the deal.

“Man Utd should hijack Liverpool’s interest in Yan Diomande, definitely,” he told Casinolyze.co.uk. “This type of winger now dominates football.

Newcastle United have rejected a bid from Tottenham for Sandro Tonali.

It has been widely reported that an offer of around £80million was rejected earlier in the week for the midfielder, who arrived on Tyneside in summer 2023.

United have, of course, also been linked with a move for Tonali this summer, and the Chronicle is reporting that Newcastle are open to selling the Italy international for the right price this summer, and that price is believed to be £100m.

Now, late on Saturday night it was claimed that Tottenham Hotspur had moved into pole position to sign Mateus Fernandes.

Journalist Matteo Moretto reported that Spurs were "very close" to agreeing personal terms with the 21-year-old midfielder.

And although Fernandes is claimed to be interested in a move to Spurs, talks between them and West Ham United are yet to take place.

But Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United are still pushing hard in talks with both the player's representatives and the Hammers as they seek a breakthrough.

The battle for Fernandes' signature appears to be well underway.
