Adelaide star Josh Worrell has reportedly been left shaken after he was involved in a car accident on his way to training on Friday.A pedestrian was struck by Worrell’s car on Port Road, 9News Adelaide reporter Will Crouch revealed.AdvertisementCrouch reported that the pedestrian had been hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries and that emergency services were not called to the scene, but both Worrell and the pedestrian presented to local police later in the day.Adelaide released a statement saying police were looking into the incident.“The Adelaide Football Club can confirm one of its players was in a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian this morning,” the statement read.“The matter has been reported to South Australia Police and at this stage, the club is not in a position to provide any further comment.”The Crows attempted to play down the incident as a minor car accident earlier on Friday, without mention of the pedestrian.Fellow 9News Adelaide reporter Braden Ingram said Worrell was OK after the crash, with the Crows insisting he would likely still play on Saturday night against Gold Coast.Further reports suggested the 25-year-old defender was shaken up by the crash and sent home from training.AdvertisementThe tall defender has played 70 games for Adelaide since being selected with pick 28 in the 2019 draft, and had a breakout season in 2025, making the All-Australian squad.Worrell has played 15 games for Adelaide so far this season, missing a game against Melbourne for what the club insisted was illness, despite rumours of disciplinary reasons.Former Port Adelaide star Chad Cornes suggested on SEN before the Showdown that the latter may have been a factor in his absence from the Dees game.Worrell did however return to the side and remains a key part of Adelaide’s backline.AdvertisementAdvertisementA win for the Crows on Saturday night could see them finish the round inside the top four, while Gold Coast will be attempting to end a six-game losing streak that has seen them tumble to 14th on the ladder.Adelaide welcomes back star defender Wayne Milera for the match after battling a hamstring complaint.
