Paolo De Paola says Juventus strikers are too fragile for Serie A

Juventus moved on from an accomplished Serie A goalscorer like Dusan Vlahovic in the summer and also sent Jonathan David and Lois Openda out on loan to make room for a new-look strike force.

That new attack is built around Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade, but the Old Lady does not appear to have completely solved the goalscoring problems they encountered last season. Their performances so far have raised questions about whether the new forwards can provide enough goals in Serie A.

Juventus attack faces questions

Against NEC in midweek, Juventus played well and scored five goals, with both Kolo Muani and Woltemade getting on the scoresheet. The result provided encouragement for the Bianconeri and showed what their attack can produce when given opportunities.

However, most teams have scored plenty of goals against the Dutch side in recent weeks, so the fixture may not be the strongest indicator of Juventus' attacking quality. The Bianconeri will need to demonstrate that they can produce similar performances against stronger opposition.

So far, Juventus have shown that they can deliver under pressure, but they still need to prove that their attack is strong enough to meet the demands of Italian football. Their ability to score consistently in Serie A remains an important question.

De Paola questions forwards

At present, the Juventus attack does not appear to be coping particularly well with the demands of Serie A. Paolo De Paola has questioned whether the two forwards possess the physicality required to perform effectively in the Italian league.

He said via Tuttojuve:

"They both (Woltemade and Kolo Muani) seem rather fragile to me for the Italian league. I think they'd both benefit from some time in the gym. They're not very physically fit, and that could be a problem for Juventus."

Kolo Muani and Woltemade will have opportunities to respond on the pitch as the season continues. Their performances in Serie A will ultimately determine whether Juventus have found the attacking solution they were looking for after making significant changes to their forward options during the summer.
