Well, we had said in the beginning of the match that GT could do better than go up to second on the league table if they manage a big win today. They nearly went and did that. GT have absolutely clotheslined RR here. Holder puts the Royals out of their misery with two wickets in the 17th over. His first came from a short ball first ball, Shanaka messes up his attempted flat bat shot down the ground, Gill takes the easy catch. Brijesh took a single second ball. Then another big swipe by Deshpande, it is caught at backward point. RR have simply surrendered here.

Jaiswal takes a single first ball. Siraj then welcomes Sooryavanshi with a short ball, Sooryavanshi welcomes him right back by biffing it over long on. Siraj follows up with a very full delivery on middle and off stump, the ball takes the toe end of the bat and hits him on the inside of his boot. He needs some medical attention after that. Then he throws his hands at the third ball, sends it just out of reach of extra cover for two runs. Takes a big swing at the fourth one and misses. Siraj then seems to have completely messed up the last ball, extremely short and goes miles above Sooryavanshi's head. Called a wide. A single off the last ball.

"The wicket was really good, but once the ball got rough, it became a little slow and started to turn a bit. Always great challenge playing against Jofra, but we had it in our mind that if an over started well for us, we would go after it. If we use a lot of slower ones, cutters and try to spin the ball, it is not easy to hit (on this pitch). We were going after the bowlers and there was no hesitation. Tushar Deshpande has finished with figures of 0/52. RR did well to pull things back in the death overs but this one would be a bit of a downer for them. Washington Sundar finishes unbeaten on 30 off 20 balls, Rahul Tewatia on 14 off four. Deshpande started off with a yorker on leg. It ends up going down for a wide. Then Deshpande returns with a full toss on the pads, Tewatia sends it flat over deep square leg for a six. The second ball is sent in back of a length outside off, Tewatia hits it over short fine leg for another six. A single next ball and then Sundar crushes the fourth ball off the back foot down the ground over long off. A wonderful yorker after that with the ball going between Sundar's legs. The batter actually asks for a review for wide there. Obviously, it wasn't a wide and so a complete waste of a review. Which GT are entitled to of course. Single off the last ball.

RR need 230 to win which will, as is usually the case nowadays in the IPL, be a record for highest succesfull run chase on this ground.

Shubman Gill: We would have bowled first as well honestly. We have got one change. Prasidh Krishna comes back in place of Manav Suthar. I think it's important to look back at your strengths as a batting group or as a bowling group. What are the things that has got us so much success as a team. So, there were some areas that we went back and we reflected. Most of the games that we have played have been pretty close. So, it's all about doing that extra effort, putting that belief in, and if something is going well for you, having the belief to be able to execute. (Do you have a score in mind when you go out?) Yeah, I mean, we're going to see how the first couple of overs, 2-3 overs go. There's obviously a par score and then you want to get 10-15 extra on top of the par score to give that extra cushion to the bowlers.
