According to Romano, Palace have indeed offered the Basque a contract, but he is holding out to see what else comes his way this summer.“Iraola is a dream target for Palace, they are prepared to try and offer important money,” he told his YouTube channel on Saturday night. “But at the moment my understanding is that nothing is done or agreed. There is a proposal on the table, but Iraola wants to wait.“Maybe in the manager’s domino he could get a different kind of opportunity and so we have to be attentive to that. He is probably hoping that another club appears.“I can also tell you that Iraola rejected an approach from a club outside of England last week. Because he wants to continue in England. How damaging could the dropped points still prove to be?We could do with Bournemouth losing…According to Romano, it still looks unlikely that the job at Anfield will be added to this list, but in delivering another update on the movement around Alonso, the reporter did again confirm that Liverpool will conduct an ‘internal review’ on Slot at the end of the campaign.“At the moment the feeling at Liverpool, I can confirm that, is that they want to continue with Arne Slot,” Romano says.“In May, Liverpool have not made contact with any other managers. I can guarantee that in 2026, Liverpool never made any direct approach with Xabi Alonso or his agent.“Many questions on Xabi Alonso and Chelsea, but still nothing concrete on this one. He is very open to opportunities around Europe if he can find the right project, but still nothing advanced with any club despite reports.“There will be an end of season review at Liverpool, on some players, on the managers, but again, the situation with Arne Slot remains in that direction because they did not approach any other manager.”
