Man Utd's lofty new league finish after Liverpool win predicted by Premier League supercomputer

MANCHESTER UNITED are predicted to finish an impressive fifth in the Premier League table by a supercomputer after their stunning win over Liverpool.

The Red Devils secured a dramatic 2-1 win at Anfield thanks to Harry Maguire‘s winner to continue their resurgence under Ruben Amorim.

It was their first win at their rivals on Merseyside since 2016 and means they have now won back to back games under Amorim for the first time.

United are now being tipped to finally start flourishing under the Portuguese boss after a turbulent spell so far.

And according to supercomputer BETSiE, from AceOdds, United are now projected to finish as high as FIFTH in the table.

Amorim’s men are currently ninth after four wins, one draw and three losses.

The supercomputer predicts them to finish on 60.2 points, just under six points below Chelsea in fourth.

That would likely be enough for United to qualify for Champions League football if England are once again given five spots in the competition.

And it would be a huge turnaround from last season, where United finished a lowly 15th with 42 points, their lowest total since they were relegated in 1973–74.

Elsewhere in the table, Arsenal are predicted to finally end their 11-year Premier League title drought and finish ahead of Liverpool.

BETSiE claims Arsenal will rack up a total of 80.9 points after 24.6 wins, 7.2 draws and 6.2 defeats.

Liverpool were too strong for Arsenal in the title race last season, but on this occasion they are being tipped to finish in second with just 77.1 points.

Manchester City are being predicted to finish third, meanwhile, with 72.6 points.

Lower down the table, Newcastle and Tottenham – who both qualified for the Champions League last season – are tipped to come sixth and eighth respectively.

And in the battle for relegation, newly-promoted duo Leeds and Sunderland are predicted to survive.

It’s claimed by BETSiE that Leeds will finish 16th on 40.1 points, while Sunderland will just avoid the drop in 17th place on 39.8 points.

Instead, West Ham are predicted to be relegated by finishing 18th with 38.8 points – despite hopes of an upturn in form under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
