NSW Blues player Joel Davies has been reported for allegedly making a lewd gesture during a premier cricket match on the weekend.

Cricket NSW confirmed Davies, a full contracted male player, has been reported for an incident during a first-grade match on Sunday between Manly and Sydney University.

After taking a wicket, Davies celebrated by thrusting his hips in the direction of a Sydney University batsman.

The incident was not reported by on-field umpires. Davies has been reported under Cricket NSW’s code of conduct but, so far, has not been charged.

A commissioner will determine whether there has been a breach and if any charge is to be laid.

Davies has played 10 Big Bash matches. His management was contacted for comment.

Sources speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter said Davies will argue his celebration was not of a sexual nature.
