Elena Rybakina won the second grand slam title of her tennis career by claiming this year’s Australian Open with a thrilling 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 victory over World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final.

With this win, Rybakina was able to redeem herself from the Australian Open final defeat she suffered at the hands of Sabalenka three years ago.

In addition, the World No. 5 from Kazakhstan will also get to take home a substantial set of earnings for winning the tournament.

Prizemoney for Rybakina, Sabalenka and semi-finalists

As per Spotrac, Rybakina will receive $4.15 million for being crowned the Australian Open champion for 2026.

Sabalenka won’t be coming away empty handed either as she is set to pocket $2.15 million for finishing as the runner-up.

This year’s Women’s singles semi-finalists are also about to become a lot richer despite falling short of making the final, with both Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina set to earn $1.25 million for reaching the semifinal stage.

While Rybakina got the victory this time, she still has a fair way to go to catch up to Sabalenka’s total career earnings to date.

Overall, Sabalenka’s updated career earnings stands at $47.4 million while Rybakina has now earned herself $28.5 million.

As for Svitolina and Pegula, they boast updated career earnings of $27.8 million and $23.1 million respectively.

Most importantly for Rybakina, her drought of going nearly four years without winning a major tournament is now over, as she can now add an Australian Open title to the Wimbledon championship she won in 2022.
