The latest on Chelsea's transfer activity on deadline day with the Blues on the verge of sanctioning a double departure with just hours remaining of the mid-season window

Chelsea are close to sanctioning a double departure on deadline day.

Blues striker David Datro Fofana is close to joining Strasbourg on a loan deal to give the BlueCo-owned French club more depth in the striker position with Emanuel Emegha, who is moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer, currently injured. Datro Fofana was recalled from his loan with Fatih Karagumruk last month and Chelsea's initial plan was to sell the Ivorian forward.

However, with Emegha injured, it is likely the 23-year-old will move to Strasbourg until the end of the season instead. Elsewhere, out-of-favour defender Axel Disasi is closing in on an exit as well.

Disasi has not played for Chelsea's senior side in more than 12 months and has largely been training away from the first team. The 27-year-old versatile defender is close to sealing a loan move to West Ham United until the end of the season, football.london understands.

AC Milan have also expressed a keen interest in Disasi, but it seems as if the Frenchman is on his way to the London Stadium ahead of tonight's 7pm deadline.

Another couple of departures that will be announced today are Tyrique George to Everton and Aaron Anselmino to Strasbourg. The Toffees agreed a loan deal, with an option to buy included, for George on Sunday after talks in recent days between the two clubs following the season-ending injury to Jack Grealish.
