Thomas Frank is holding his first press conference as Tottenham Hotspur head coach on Friday afternoon as he prepares for his debut in the dugout with the pre-season friendly at Reading on Saturday. The 51-year-old was appointed as head coach last month to replace Ange Postecoglou and now the Dane will take the Europa League winners into a season that brings with it Champions League football as well as a need to improve the team's Premier League results. Frank already has two new faces through the door in Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale, as well as giving the green light to making Mathys Tel's loan move from Bayern Munich a permanent one.Tottenham are also trying to sign England international Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest but that £60million move is currently bring protracted by legal matters surrounding the 25-year-old's release clause, which have left it in limbo. There is also the future of Spurs captain Son Heung-min as he enters the final 11 months of his contract as well as vice-captain Cristian Romero, who has two years left on his deal and has been linked with a move to La Liga, for Frank to speak about. The former Brentford boss currently has a bloated squad that needs trimming with plenty of departures expected in the weeks ahead while the club looks to add more quality to their ranks. For the new head coach, the pre-season friendlies that begin with Saturday's trip to League One side Reading will give him a better idea of which players must be kept with the squad and which of them will head off elsewhere. Our Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold is among those putting the questions to Frank on his first occasion in front of the Spurs media.
