Earlier reports saw South Africa’s Deputy Minister of Sport, Peace Mabe, suggesting that South Africa would host the competition due to Morocco’s alleged withdrawal.Sources indicate that Moroccan authorities had warned for several weeks that hosting the tournament in March would be unfeasible. Despite these concerns, participating federations had reportedly not received formal clarification from CAF until now, prompting widespread confusion.While Morocco remains the designated host, the tournament dates are now in limbo.
