Callum O'Hare transfer news: Sheffield United frustration 'natural' amid Wrexham's O'Hare pursuit

Assistant manager Steve Parkin says he understands Chris Wilder's frustrations over the possibility of losing Callum O'Hare to Wrexham after the Sheffield United boss accused the Welsh side of a "blanket bombing" approach to the transfer window.

Speaking ahead of the Blades' Championship contest with Bolton Wanderers at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night (19:45 BST), United boss Wilder confirmed the Red Dragons had submitted a bid for attacking midfielder O'Hare.

During the press briefing, Wilder also said Wrexham were "in for half the division".

And while accepting Wilder's frustrations, Wrexham assistant Parkin was keen to stress his side's transfer dealings are far more methodical than Wilder suggested.

"I did read that (Wilder's comments). Me and Chris go a long way back and he's no different to any other manager," said Parkin.

"If it looks as though key players are going to leave your football club, the natural thing is to be upset and I'm sure that was his reaction.

"In the cold light of day we don't work like that, we earmark players that we would like to sign and that's the way we go forward.

"I'm looking forward to meeting him and having a beer to see what he says to that."

O'Hare, 28, is set to undergo a medical with Wrexham on deadline day with a view to securing a permanent switch to north Wales for around £6.5m.

The Red Dragons confirmed the signing of defender Joe Worrall from Burnley on the morning of transfer deadline day.

The centre-back has signed a two-year contract with Wrexham - who hold the option to extend the deal by an additional 12 months.

"Delighted, we met him yesterday afternoon for the first time and took him on the training ground for half an hour just to get his legs going," Parkin said of Worrall's arrival.

"Obviously a high calibre player and a high calibre person. We did a lot of checking before we decided to sign him.

"First and foremost, he wanted to come to us from a very good club, and secondly, his pedigree speaks for itself so we're looking forward to working with him."

Worrall joins goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, central midfielder Ben Whiteman and wing-backs Danny Imray, Jacques Ekomie and Issa Kabore in making the move to the Racecourse Ground this summer.

Wrexham remain hopeful of further additions ahead of Tuesday's 23:00 BST transfer deadline, although Parkin refused to comment specifically on interest in O'Hare.

"I think we've got interest in three or four players of that (O'Hare's) calibre, so it would be wrong of me to comment on one individual," Parkin added.

"But certainly if there's a right player available then I'm sure the gaffer will chase it down."
