The winners of the 2026 World Cup will receive championship rings, FIFA announced on Thursday, July 16.Argentina will meet Spain in the final on Sunday, July 19, with each player on the winning team receiving the rings in addition to the traditional winner's medal and the trophy.The move sees FIFA follow in the footsteps of American sports leagues, which traditionally award championship rings.It will be the first time the World Cup winners will receive rings, with FIFA saying it is "bringing (the) iconic American sporting tradition to global football."In total, 2,026 rings will be produced, with 30 reserved for the winners and 1,996 available for fans to purchase.
