The summer transfer window opens in around four months, but already, Manchester United scouts are very busy with one player involved in Inter vs Juventus set to be targeted.

It is no secret that Manchester United are targeting a midfield revamp this summer, with countless elite options being considered, such as Elliot Anderson and now Sandro Tonali.

But United will also be in the market for a left winger, with defensive upgrades also on the agenda. This has been seen with United’s interest in Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh.

Now, scouts are heading to Italy to watch a French defender who has lots of potential.

Manchester United scouts set to watch Pierre Kalulu

Despite news of Harry Maguire’s potential contract extension, United will likely still want to reinforce the back line this summer ahead of European football next season.

Now, it has emerged that one potential target is Pierre Kalulu from Juventus.

This is according to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, who has claimed United scouts are attending the Inter vs Juventus game this weekend.

“On the page (of TuttoSport), in the two pages dedicated to Inter, on one side you have “United, eyes on Dimarco at the stadium” and then “renewal…” with dots, as if there were problems.

“A superb season for the full-back (Dimarco) – he’s attracted interest from Manchester (United), who are ready to consider a move. An acceleration is needed on the new contract.

“It could go up to €5.3 million. A year ago it was reported that Arsenal had made an approach, and now Manchester – with a supposed emissary ready to watch him in tomorrow night’s match. Although, as far as I’m aware, they’re actually coming to watch Kalulu, who is liked for the future.”

United have been interested in Federico Dimarco often in the past few years, but Kalulu would be a new target.

Pierre Kalulu isn’t what Manchester United need

This summer, United are going to need defensive additions regardless of whether anybody leaves or not.

With Lisandro Martinez, Maguire, and Matthijs de Ligt all unreliable in their fitness, that leaves United with just Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro.

So there is going to need to be an addition, but Kalulu isn’t the right move.

Despite Didier Deschamps telling Il Bianconeri that Kalulu is ‘excellent’ at the moment.

Kalulu is neither a youngster nor experienced, and therefore, chances are he wouldn’t be a signing for the long term, nor does he add immediate quality.

There are better options on the market.
