Dewald Brevis scored a quickfire half-century in the AUS vs SA 3rd T20I.

South Africa batter Dewald Brevis continued his mayhem with the bat in the ongoing T20I series against the Australia Cricket Team. The right-handed batsman slammed a quickfire half-century off just 22 deliveries in the third T20I.

The third and final T20I between South Africa and Australia is underway at Cazaly’s Stadium, Cairns. After winning the toss, Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh opted to bowl first in the series-decider clash. Proteas lost skipper Aiden Markram (1) cheaply in the first over itself.

Till the seventh over, they lost three wickets on the board and were reeling at 49/3. Brevis, who slammed his maiden T20I ton in the previous game, smashed 53 runs off 26 deliveries to demolish Australia bowlers. The right-handed batsman hammered six sixes and one boundary during his knock to send the crowd into a frenzy.

During the 10th over of Aaron Hardie, Brevis slammed a hat-trick of no-look sixes to astonish the spectators at the stadium. Notably, the Proteas batter hit four sixes in a row off the last four deliveries of the over to reach his half-century off just 22 deliveries.

Later, Nathan Ellis dismissed Brevis in the 12th over, as South Africa reached 110/4 on the board after his dismissal.

Notably, Brevis led South Africa to victory in the second T20I with his incredible century. Scoring an unbeaten 125 runs off just 56 deliveries, he propelled the team’s total to 218/7 in the first innings. Later, the hosts succumbed to the pressure and were bowled out for just 165 runs, losing the game by 53 runs.

Meanwhile, the winner of the third T20I will win the three-match series as the series is currently tied at 1-1. In the opening game, the hosts crushed South Africa by 17 runs.
