Spinner Noor Ahmad and all-rounder Dayyaan Galiem are among the players released.

SA20 history

The SA20 started in 2023. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the reigning champions and the most successful team in the history of the tournament with three titles.

MI Cape Town have won the title once and finished in last position three times.

The Joburg Super Kings, Pretoria Capitals, Paarl Royals and Durban’s Super Giants have never won an SA20 title.

Batsman Ryan Rickelton and seamer Ottneil Baartman are the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker, respectively, in the history of the SA20.

Former Proteas captain Graeme Smith is the SA20 league commissioner.

Season five of the SA20 will be played from 17 January to 21 February 2027. The final will be played at Newlands in Cape Town again.
