Laois set for London visit as Tailteann Cup draws made

Laois are set for a trip across the Irish Sea to take on London after the draws for Round 2A and Round 2B of the Tailteann Cup were made on Monday.

Justin McNulty got one over former Armagh team-mate Oisín McConville at the weekend, Laois beating Wicklow 1-23 to 0-19, and they will now take on a London side that hit four first-half goals as they hammered Waterford on Sunday.

Offaly's reward for their impressive Round 1 win over Clare is a home fixture with the winner of Down or Leitrim.

Conor Laverty's side host Leitrim - managed by fellow Mourne man Steven Poacher - on Saturday evening in Newry with the loser enjoying home advantage against Carlow in Round 2B.

Antrim posted a mammoth 6-17 against Carlow, but still had only three points to spare after extra-time. Mark Doran’s Saffrons will now face a Tipperary side who fended off a late Sligo fightback to advance to Round 2A.

The final Round 2A clash will see Fermanagh welcome Division 3 finalists Wexford to Brewster Park.

It's last-chance saloon for the sides in Round 2B with defeat leading to elimination.

Clare, who lost 1-14 to 1-17 in Ennis against Offaly, will be back on home turf as they welcome Longford.

Wicklow will hope to bounce back from that loss to Laois in Aughrim as Limerick visit. The Treaty County lost heavily to Wexford in the first round.

Waterford will be at home to Sligo, who ran out of time against Tipperary.

The first side named will have home advantage in both rounds with fixtures to take place across 23/24 May.

New York enter at the preliminary quarter-final stage.
