Cricket Victoria is set to investigate allegations of ball-tampering in a First XI match.Victorian Premier Cricket operations boss Darren Anderson confirmed on Sunday morning that an umpires’ report was being prepared for CV after an incident during Casey South Melbourne’s clash with Melbourne on Saturday.Umpires noticed almost instantly when the ball came in from the outfield out of condition on one side.Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download todayIt’s alleged the ball had been scraped along the concrete boundary early on Day 2 of the game. It was replaced immediately.A photo from the ground shows a red mark along the concrete, which appears to support the allegation.Anderson said the ball in question would be collected from the umpires on Monday, after their written report was lodged with officials.“From what I understand, it happened early and the umpires noticed something that didn’t seem right and under the laws of cricket followed the procedures from there,’’ Anderson told News Corp.Casey South Melbourne is aware that one of their players has been reported for a level three offence.
