For the first time in three months, IPL champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted on social media and addressed the deadly stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in June that claimed 11 lives and injured 75.In the social media post, RCB, who won their first-ever title by beating Punjab Kings, acknowledged their silence was because of 'grief' caused by the incident on June 4.In the post, the franchise said, "That day broke our hearts, and the silence since then has been our way of holding space."RCB's social media post in full:"Dear 12th Man Army, this is our heartfelt letter to you!𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.The Silence wasn’t Absence. And we always will."The tragedy outside Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium unfolded during RCB's homecoming celebration after their maiden IPL title win, ending an 18-year wait.The tragedy not only claimed numerous lives but also damaged the reputation of Bengaluru's iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium. As a result, Mumbai will replace Bengaluru as one of the five venues for next month’s Women’s ODI World Cup, the ICC confirmed, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”Meanwhile, the Maharaja T20 tournament was moved to Mysuru after the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) failed to secure clearance from Bengaluru police to host the franchise-based T20 event at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium from August 11 to 27.The stadium had earlier been declared unfit for major events following an investigation into the stampede during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL title celebrations earlier this year.
