Caribbean Premier League Final is upon us. And it is Jamaica Kingsmen who beat the table-toppers Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2nd Qualifier to seal their spot in the final. They will meet Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for the second time this season.

The Falcons and Kingsmen locked horns in the season opener in Kingstown, where the former emerged victorious, chasing down 168 runs with 2 wickets in hand. The tournament will conclude with the same two teams fighting it out for the title in the Final.

Will the Kingsmen have the last laugh? They reached the Eliminator on the back of two consecutive losses. However, once in the knockout stage, Jamaica have been exceptional, winning both Eliminator and 2nd Qualifier with impressive batting performances.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons bowled out Guyana for 76 runs in the 1st Qualifier. However, a different track seems to be used in the Eliminator and QF2 where batters found a lot more help than any of the previous outing on this ground.

The Falcons will need their key batters in the top 4 to score big and post a more competitive total against a back-in-form Kingsmen.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons Preview

Rahkeen Cornwall is back into the side for the playoffs. He scored a quickfire 49 off 16 balls opening for the Falcons in Qualifier 1. His opening partner Evin Lewis also looked in fine rhtyhm, scoring at 176.92 strike rate as ABF chased down 77 runs within the powerplay.

Cornwall is a good replacement for Karima Gore and should continue to be part of the side for this match. Amir Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz hold key positions in the middle order. Nawaz has been pretty impressive at number 4 and will be one to watch in the race to be the top ABF batsman.

The last time these two teams met, Falcons’ batting order looked a lot different with Tim Robinson and Tajinder Dhillon in the middle order. These two batters played the most impactful knocks in their successful run chase against the Kingsmen in Kingstown.

In this game, it will be down to Hasan Nawaz and Amir Jangoo to play that role and build match-winning partnerships. There are bowling all-rounders like Moeen Ali, Shadab Khan, and Fabian Allen further down the order.

Though they haven’t been very reliable or consistent, considering the changed conditions at the venue, we expect Moeen Ali to come good with a strong finish at number 5 with a captain’s knock.

And while spinners wreaked havoc all through the season on this ground, the bowlers seemed to struggle in the last match here. The pacers need to try variations and rely on the back-of-the-hand delivery to outsmart the batsman.

Shadab Khan and Sufyan Moqim remain the most crucial bowlers in this squad, while Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Springer will need to up the ante with the pace.

Jamaica Kingsmen were exceptional in Qualifier 2. In their previous matches in the run up to the playoffs as well as the Eliminator game, their middle order had failed to step up and the opening batter Maaz Sadaqat was scoring most runs in the top order.

What looked like a strong batting lineup that is heavily dependent on one player turned things around overnight as Keacy Carty and skipper Rovman Powell came to the resecue at 3 and 5 respectively with game-changing knocks to lead the Kingsmen into the Final.

Their Eliminator win was mostly down to their bowling performance after winning the toss and opting to bowl. Though Sadaqat scored a hundred in the game, the target wasn’t a big ask. In the previous outings, Usman Khan and Rovman Powell were struggling in the middle order while Keacy Carty was pushed a lot further down the order.

Carty has now become the 9th highest run-scorer in the tournament, but his strike rate this season has been 119.62, which is a concern. However, in the last match, he scored at 140 strike rate, which is geat news for Jamaica coming into the Final.

And while Saim Ayub, hasn’t scored a lot of runs in the 5 innings he played, he has one hundred to his name, and has a strike rate of 156. If the pitch stays the same as in the previous match, we can expect Ayub to play the big shots and help set up a strong finish along with skipper Rovman Powell.

Hunain Shah, Hassan Khan, and Andre Russell are the key wicket-takers in this squad to watch out for. They have plenty of wicket-taking options with Saim Ayub and Keemo Paul in the lineup.

The highest first-innings total on this ground in CPL 2026 before the last match was 150 runs. Now, with 207 runs being chased down in a knockout game, the match-winning total will look a lot different. If the same track is used for the final, the team batting first should aim for 210+ runs to be in a winning position.
