I went across the wicket yesterday and there is a green tinge and it feels quite soft.

I don't think it will have any pace. I think it will be a nibbler.

Toss at 11:30, start at 12

News from the inspection - we'll have a toss at 11:30 BST and the start of play at 12:00.

The covers are off at Lord's and the England players are knocking a football around on the outfield.

'This could be your only chance'

England's Jordan Cox, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was an incredible fixture, wasn't it?

"It started incredibly well, especially with the ball. Those [England] fast bowlers, let's just say we were lucky that we don't have to face them every week. They put on an absolute clinic, didn't they?

"To face them in the nets is awesome. Facing Jofra [Archer] and [Josh] Tongue in the nets, you're only going to get better.

"I was devastated when I got out. I was saying to myself 'this could be your only chance'. That ball unfortunately hit my pad. I didn't feel anything. I thought I'd go upstairs and I have never done it before - it was good fun!"

On Joe Root: "It is hard to put into words how Joe is. People say so calm and so composed. To bat with Joe and my goal was to try bat longer than Joe."

Under Ben and Baz it was an incredible ride, but it has always been quite loose.

When you start losing, and you carry on with that vibe, that's when the problem becomes.

The words "hacked off" suddenly sent a shiver around the whole game of English cricket.

If Joe Root is hacked off, then you know there's a real problem.

Babar to return

We're 15 minutes from the inspection and should be there be a toss this morning it'll be Babar Azam joining Joe Root in the middle.

The Pakistan captain has been passed fit after a hand injury saw him miss the first Test at Headingley and will now slip back into the tourists' middle order.

Salman Ali Agha deputised for him at Leeds.

Carse under investigation

A bit of news to bring you while we wait for some news from London.

An incident during which England bowler Brydon Carse was handcuffed outside a nightclub is being investigated by Derbyshire Police, who say they are looking into allegations of assault.

Images circulating on social media on Sunday showed Carse in handcuffs and surrounded by police officers while the pace bowler was on a night out in Derby on Saturday.

The 31-year-old was briefly arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said the incident would be investigated by the Cricket Regulator and, as a result, Carse was removed from the England squad for this Test.

Carse has played 58 times for England, including 14 Tests, with his last appearance in the red-ball format coming in last winter's Ashes.

He is in Durham's side for the County Championship match against Gloucestershire that is starting this morning at Chester-le-Street, with the home side set to bowl.

What you'll notice over the next hour or so is the clouds will start to break up, and we will see some sunny spells.

This afternoon we may not be completely out of the woods. We will see some storm clouds erupting.

The scattered showers and thunderstorms that we typically see.

Toss delayed

Yes, I'm afraid we've got a delayed toss for this second Test between England and Pakistan at Lord's.

The covers are on at the Home of Cricket, although we've just seen the ground staff have started to remove those on the outer part of square.

There's been a fair bit of rain overnight and this morning in London, although it seems to have stopped now.

I've been staring at rain radars and the band of bad weather looks set to move north within the next hour, but it will take little a while to get the ground ready to play.
