Spurs have announced that Alejo Veliz will leave the club on July 1 to join Brazilian side Bahia.

The 22-year-old joined Tottenham for £13m from Rosario in 2023, but Roberto De Zerbi has made a decision on the striker.

A club statement read: "We have reached an agreement with Bahia for the transfer of Alejo Veliz, who will join the Brazilian club on 1 July.

"Striker Alejo joined us from Rosario Central in his home country of Argentina during the summer of 2023 and made eight first team appearances in our colours, scoring a Premier League goal against Brighton & Hove Albion in December of that year.

"He subsequently enjoyed loan spells in Spain with Sevilla and Espanyol before returning to Rosario on loan last July for the 2025/26 season.

"Alejo is now set to move to the Brazilian top flight on a permanent basis – we wish him well for the future."

Claims in the Sun this morning that Bruno Guimaraes could be offered new deal at Newcastle after the World Cup.

The Brazil international is currently picking up just over £150,000 per week and is one of the highest earners on Tyneside. But an offer of £200,000 per week would put him at the top of the earner list.

The midfielder has a contract until 2028 and jetted off to the World Cup with no new deal on the table. The player has been spoken about as a signing for Arsenal.

Newcastle made it clear that Bruno was "not for sale" earlier this week.

Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk appears set to join Brighton following an agreement in principle between the two Premier League sides. The transfer fee for the 26-year-old centre-back, whose deal at Elland Road was set to run until the conclusion of the 2026/27 campaign, remains undisclosed, but BBC Sport report it is set to be around £20m.

Leeds recruited the Dutchman for their under-23 setup from Ajax in January 2018 before he progressed to the senior squad. He clocked up 196 outings for the Whites, featuring 34 times in the Premier League during the previous campaign.

Brighton have already offloaded centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke to Tottenham for £52m this summer.

Mohamed Salah is set for a scan after being substituted against Iran. The Liverpool winger, who will officially leave Anfield as a free agent on July 1, was replaced by Mostafa Zico in the 57th minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw.

It comes amid uncertainty over his next move, with the forward's agent Ramy Abbas denying that the outgoing Liverpool star has already decided on his next side, amid speculation linking him with a move to Turkey.

Posting on X, he said: "Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them.

"Both he and I are very private about these things. Yes, people may ask and they may get a standard polite response but that’s about it."

Hello and welcome to our live coverage on the latest transfer news this morning. Transfers may not currently be the focus, but they are still having an impact on the World Cup.

England and Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson is set to complete a big-money move to Manchester City and there should be confirmation of that in the coming days.

Meanwhile, there are updates on Marcus Rashford, Yan Diomande, Granit Xhaka, Felix Nmecha and more. Follow our live coverage throughout the day for all the latest!

The World Cup is the biggest shop window on the planet. And all Premier League clubs are gazing straight through it right now, with hard cash burning a hole in their pockets.

With the odd exception - Elliot Anderson, Nico Paz, Marc Cucurella - the transfer market has ground to a halt. While all those who will go on to define it later this summer, showcase their skills in North America. It will be an open goal for some, while others will blow their big chance to secure a big move on even dreamier wages.

But World Cups have a reliable habit of presenting the game with a new superstar. Think James Rodriguez in Brazil, Kylian Mbappe in Russia and Enzo Fernandez in Qatar. This latest edition of the greatest show on turf will be no different.

Mbappe has revealed that Inter Miami co‑owner David Beckham has discussed the possibility of him moving to the United States.

"Will I come here before the end of my career? Maybe, I do not know," the France and PSG star said via Fox Sports.

"David asks me if I want to come to the United States. We will see. It is a country I like, it is a pleasure to be here. The United States has a different culture from ours. I have always liked this culture where ambition has no limits."

Former Manchester United star Nicky Butt has urged the club to sign Lucas Bergvall instead of Mateus Fernandes. In a recent interview via football.london, he said: "[Mateus] Fernandes is a fantastic player. I loved him at West Ham when I watched him, but when it comes to Man United, he's not going to be playing instead of Bruno Fernandes.

"I'm pretty sure the people around him will also be telling him that. He will want to kick on and become one of the best in the Premier League - his next move might then be to Real Madrid or Barcelona or wherever.

"If he goes to Tottenham, he's going to be the main man, one of the best players. Plus he’ll be on a fortune and living in London. I like Lucas Bergvall a lot. It looks like Elliot Anderson is going to Man City but United are still going for someone who can get about the pitch and be box to box.

"He’s pretty proven in the league and Scandinavian players always adapt very well. He's powerful. He can run. I think he'd be a good player for Man United. It all depends on the price. But put that to one side and he's a very good player. Another player that can get around the pitch and do what a Man United player needs to do.”

Ex-West Ham forward Robert Snodgrass has told Jarrod Bowen to stay at West Ham. He said: "Jarrod Bowen to Aston Villa or Everton? I think he did really well last season despite where West Ham finished.

"He has been the main man and his numbers have been really good for the last three years.

"If I'm Jarrod, I'm staying at West Ham. He is the captain and he is loved there. Signing a longer-term deal would show massive loyalty and togetherness. If they keep him and make the right signings, it shows a massive intent to go straight back up."

Reports suggest that Andre Onana is nearing a return to Trabzonspor on loan. It is understood that the the deal is '90% done' between the clubs, as per BBC Sport, and does not include an option to buy clause.

Onana was set to return to Manchester United this summer to be evaluated by Michael Carrick. However, it is highly unlikely that the goalkeeper will unseat Senne Lammens from his starting berth at Old Trafford.
