33 years since the 17th Spanish Football Cup

On June 26, 1993, Real Madrid lifted their seventeenth Spanish Cup. The opponent was Zaragoza, in a match played at the Mestalla stadium. Butragueño put the madridistas ahead in the first half, and Lasa, in the 78th minute, sealed the victory, earning them the title four years after their previous Cup win.

Real Madrid, led by Benito Floro, eliminated Mallorca (Round of 16), Real Sociedad (Quarterfinals), and Barcelona (Semifinals). In that Cup, Zamorano had a standout performance, scoring six goals in the seven matches the team played.
