Ethan Williams has spent his 2025/26 campaign on loan in Scotland, where he has been impressing.Manchester United will be watching Ethan Williams with quiet excitement as the winger continues to excel in every challenge he is set.On loan at Falkirk, Williams has been impressive since day one, looking like he might very quickly become a level above playing Scottish football. The Falkirk manager, John McGlynn spoke so highly of Williams after signing him, with the United academy starlet having quality which is deadly at that level. Now, Williams has discussed his ultimate goal, which he believes is possible.Ethan Williams still aiming to be a Manchester United playerLast weekend, Williams had his best performance for Falkirk, scoring and assisting, while he also earned lots of praise from his manager, labelling him ‘frightening’.Now, Williams has been speaking to the Falkirk Herald, in which he has admitted his target is still to play for United.More United News“As a United fan, to be able to play for them would be a dream come true. That is the goal. Right now I am focused on being at Falkirk and gathering as much experience as I can to be able to play at a great level like the Premier League.“All the attacking players have different styles and elements to their game. I can watch and learn from them. I’m talking about Bruno (Fernandes) – the captain – Amad (Diallo), the new signings like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.”Continuing, Williams discusses Amad and how he is currently managing to perform in Scotland, something the Ivorian failed to accomplish.“You never know how life turns out. I guess I am doing well and Amad (Diallo) didn’t do quite so well. Amad has gone back to Man United, had a very good season with Sunderland in the Championship and now he is playing at a really high level.“Fair play to him. I did speak to him before coming up here. I knew it was a tough time for him. I’ve just tried to take on the advice and keep things rolling. I just want to gather as much experience as I can while I am here.”Williams scored for United’s first team in pre-season, and this will be something he looks to repeat in 2026.Amad struggled on loan at RangersWhile Williams now has a goal and three assists for Falkirk and looks to be going from strength to strength, Amad’s time in Scotland was less happy.Amad headed to Rangers on loan in 2022, where the Ivorian failed to be his brilliant self. Despite Amad barely playing for Rangers over the course of the season he was there, fans in Glasgow had the feeling that they had missed out on a player capable of much more.In just 13 games, he scored three goals, but overall, it was a spell that saw Amad struggle, learning a lot in the process, which has aided him at Sunderland and then United.Williams will hope he learns the same lessons, to try and earn a role under Ruben Amorim over the next few years.
