Turkish media agree on 'super' Mohamed Salah as Liverpool legend secures another first

Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick for Trabzonspor in a statement win for the Turkish Super Lig side against Galatasaray, leading by example to secure a huge three points

Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick and set up another goal in a 4-0 rout of Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.

Despite topping the standings at this early point in the season, and Galatasaray having started the season well, Salah and Trabzonspor wiped the floor with Okan Buruk's side. The Egyptian opened the scoring on four minutes and 10 minutes from the end netted his third, with another goal and an assist for Noah Saviolo in between.

Salah, 34, left Liverpool in the summer to move to Turkiye. He now has seven goals in his first six league games for his new club.

The Turkish media was suitably impressed by Salah's performance. He "put on a show in Trabzon," according to Fanatik.

It said the ex-Liverpool man "dominated" the match, which was the first under new head coach Thomas Reis, while Turkiye Today said that the "super" Salah "set the tone" for the victory.

Salah became the first Egyptian to score in this fixture, the website Sozcu noted, and added that he is the first foreign Trabzonspor player to score in each of his first three home games.

After Trabzonspor failed to qualify for the Europa League, Salah took to social media to deliver a message to fans, just like he had done at Liverpool.

"Bad nights and disappointments are part of football, and I have learned to turn them into motivation and into trophies," he wrote.

"Trabzonspor is my club, and I am part of this project, body and soul. Last night will not change that. I know expectations are high, and I truly believe we can and will deliver. 'I came here to win' is not just a slogan to me."

In the Galatasaray game, at least, he was the driving force behind a huge victory. That is exactly why he was brought in.

Trabzonspor takes on Samsunspor next, but only after the international break. Egypt faces Angola and South Sudan before then.

Liverpool.com says: It is good to see Salah doing well in his new league. That is not to say that it was the wrong call for him to move on from Anfield, but he is clearly still a good player.

Trabzonspor missed out on the Europa League after losing in the play-offs, but this result would suggest that Salah and co. could be in contention for the league title.
