Manchester United began their pre-season with a goalless draw against Leeds United on Saturday.

United's head coach Ruben Amorim gave new signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon their first run out in Stockholm, both of whom impressed against the newly promoted Premier League team. Bryan Mbeumo has also joined them this summer, with United announcing his £65million transfer from Brentford on Monday.

The Reds' pre-season preparations will continue with a tour of the United States. Amorim's squad flew out to Chicago on Tuesday, where they'll be stationed for most of their three-match tour.

Below are some of the latest United headlines as well as a view on each one...

Jackson 'stance'

GiveMeSport claim that the priority for Man United-linked Nicolas Jackson would be to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.

It is claimed that the Blues are open to doing business though, and that Jackson would also not close the door on United even without European football next season.

Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: "It's hard to understand why United would waste their funds on a player who offers no discernible upgrade on what they already have?

"Jackson scored just three more goals (13) across all competitions than Hojlund and was playing in a better team than Amorim's rabble."

Sancho update

The Athletic's David Ornstein has rubbished any suggestion that Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho is closing in on a move to Juventus.

“Jadon Sancho has been heavily rumoured to be closing in on a move to Juventus," he told The Athletic's podcast.

"That is not accurate as I understand it at all and I’m not quite sure where that’s emanated from.”

Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: "Sancho clearly has no long-term future at United and it feels inevitable that he will depart at some point this summer.

"Selling him will be tricky but another loan move may not hurt to get his wages off United's books."
