Carlo Ancelotti’s Promise to Brazil’s Fans Ahead of the World Cup

With fewer than 100 days remaining before the 2026 World Cup kicks off in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has assured fans that the Seleção will compete at the highest level.

“It’s a great motivation and, at the same time, a great responsibility to do our very best. I am convinced that we are going to have a World Cup of a very high level,” the Italian manager said in remarks released by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). His comments, made prior to the confirmation of Rodrygo’s serious injury, reflect the belief within the squad as preparations intensify.

Ancelotti, who took charge of Brazil last May, confirmed that logistical and organizational aspects are already fully in place. The focus now shifts to closely monitoring players — both those actively competing and those recovering from injuries.

The former Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich coach emphasized the importance of upcoming friendlies against France and Croatia, scheduled for March 26 and 31 in the United States. These matches are seen as critical benchmarks in Brazil’s preparation process.

“It’s a joy to have time to prepare for such an important event for Brazil,” Ancelotti added, underlining the value of structured planning ahead of the global tournament.

Although Brazil is not universally considered the overwhelming favorite, the ambition remains clear: capture a historic sixth World Cup title. The ‘Seleção’ — the only five-time world champion (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002) — will begin its campaign on U.S. soil.

Brazil will open Group C on June 13 against Morocco in New Jersey, face Haiti on June 19 in Philadelphia, and conclude the group stage against Scotland on June 24 in Miami.
