Orlando Pirates Football Club Announces the Passing of Mrs. Maleshoane Elizabeth "Nani" Chakane

It is with great sadness that Orlando Pirates Football Club announces the passing of Mrs. Maleshoane Elizabeth “Nani” Chakane, beloved wife of Mr. Franklin Chakane, on 23 June 2026.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the Club are with the Chakane family during this time of bereavement.

The Club extends its heartfelt condolences to Mr. Franklin Chakane, the Chakane family, relatives, friends, and all those whose lives have been touched by her passing during this difficult time.

Funeral Service Details

Date: Thursday, 2 July 2026

Service: 09:00

Venue: Uniting Reformed Church of South Africa, Orlando East, Soweto

Following the church service, the funeral procession will depart at approximately 11:00 for the burial at Nasrec Cemetery.
