Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "At the end, yes. The first half was not so good but we were very competitive in the duals. We took our chance. It was a good chance for them as well. Clean sheet, winning after months of not winning and then in an away game against Brighton, where it means so much for our fans. A great Sunday afternoon.

"It was a relief. We can talk and analyse but you can never replace a win. We deserved it at the end, we couldn't expect to play our best football but we were very compact and aggressive.

"Our defenders did so well. Jeff Lerma had six or seven balls to clear but we were never surprised. We knew how they wanted to play. We didn't give them a lot of crosses. We didn't allow them to get a second chance. Everyone did their job.

On Strand Larsen: "Huge effort and was a permanent threat. He was doing so well with the small pieces. He defended the set plays so well. It was not perfect, I told him that after the game but it will be easier for him after three or four weeks."

'We will find solutions'

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking Sky Sports: “I think we didn’t have plenty of chances but controlled the game. We came into good areas but didn’t finalise it and we made one mistake. We had wrong decisions when we conceded and then afterwards, we looked quite fragile. We didn’t show the right reactions, which was disappointing. It was not good enough today. We are all disappointed. The loss of energy, the loss of intensity, I was not happy because it just was not good enough.

“We were in the right places but you need to finalise and finish an attack and that is something we definitely need to improve.

“Football is in a big part played in your mind. When the mind is not in the perfect place then of course you lack confidence and that is something we have to face. You get confidence back with good results and to get good results you have to work hard.”

"Everyone is allowed to share their emotions. It is not an easy moment to handle. I need to face this adversity and face these boos and I need to commit to the club and I am 100% committed. All I can promise is that we will find solutions. For me personally it is not the manin thing. I try to absorb all the criticism on me because I am responsible."

'We know we have problems'

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Sport: “Not an easy moment or situation but that is football and we will face. The game was not our best game so we have to be self-critical.

“Until the first goal, it was not our best game but it was how we reacted. We didn’t stay in our structure and made easy mistakes. Goals always happen after mistakes. This game was decided by individual tackles, duels and personal mistakes.

“We are all disappointed and know we have problems at the moment but it is about finding solutions.

"It is football. I have to accept emotions are part of the game I am fully committed to this club and try my best along with the players."

'We need to take responsibility'

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk, speaking to Sky Sports: "I don't think as a group of players at the moment, we're not doing enough, we're not good enough. We need to take responsibility. We need to take a look at ourselves in the mirror and do something about that.

"We're not doing enough as a group, we're not training hard enough and we didn't show enough fight. The only way is to stick together and bounce back.

"It's football and football, if you look at the last couple of games, we probably deserved more but that's football. We have to keep trying and hopefully we can get out of this run.

"It comes in training every day. The winning mentality in the training session and the hunger to get better. We know we need to step up. That's on us as a group of players. There's another game on Wednesday and maybe we can be in a different conversation then.

On the fans booing: "They're frustrated, I get it. We need them to stick with us. We've not done enough today as a manager. We've been in worse positions than this as a football club. We were around that relegation fight over the first few years and it was hard."

'We want to get addicted to winning again'

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a lot of relief. I told the players we can talk about it and do everything, but you need to win and that's what they did today. Congratulations to them. Maybe it wasn't the best Premier League game ever, but both teams were fighting hard. Feeling absolutely great.

"It was the clean sheet that helped us. First half, we didn't create enough, it's normal with players in their first competitive game together. Sarr wins the second ball and then it's a great run. Today we took the chance. 10 minutes later, they had a similar situation, but Dean saved the ball.

"It's quality and decision making. He scored with his left, but it's the quality of Guessend. He's strong and clever. It's getting used to the intensity of the Premier League. Jorgen Strand Larsen was working so hard for the team. I think we gave them one chance. A huge team effort and that's what we needed.

"It's the experience. In tight games, it's all about consistency. We played well in the other games, but we make one mistake and get punished. We were good in defence. We did the basics right.

On Strand Larsen: "It's the effort. He will get better and better. I told him after the game in three or four weeks, he will know where to pass it. He's not used to the way we are playing. His effort and presence. He defended the set plays well. He was a constant threat and that's very positive.

"It's important to stay humble. We had some barbecues and tried to keep he mood positive at the training ground but nothing can replace winning. We want to get addicted to winning again."

'A really good start to my journey here'

Crystal Palace forward Jorgen Strand Larsen speaking Sky Sports: "I had cramps all over at the finish. It was an unbelievable atmosphere and what a way to start my Crystal Palace career, with a win in a derby. We are really happy.

“Really important with the run without wins. So for me to come in and help the team win the first game in a long time is really important. The fans backed us a lot today and were signing all game. It gave us lots of energy. I think this is the most intense game I’ve ever played so really tired but it was worth it.

“I think you see today that I got a few chances. The style of play suits me. It is intense, high pressure and we had a few chances. The more we train together they will know my qualities. I think I had a good game today but there is a lot of improvement as well but a really good start to my journey here.

“I feel like the first six months at Wolves [this season] was tough. I wish it was different because I loved the club and it was hard taking the next step but it was something I needed to do.”
