Arne Slot has backed Mohamed Salah to overcome his current slump in form following a week in which the Liverpool star caused controversy with his social media activity. The 33-year-old deleted all references to Liverpool on his X account after he was named as a substitute against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday. Salah also headed quickly down the tunnel after the full-time whistle and cut a frustrated figure, as has often been the case this season. It has been a difficult start to the new campaign for last season's star man, and Salah has managed just one Premier League goal from open play in eight matches. But speaking on Friday, Slot said he is not considering the Egyptian in a different light to his Liverpool team-mates."It’s a difficult moment for all of us," the Liverpool head coach said. "No one is used to losing - for all the players that have played here for many years, and even for the new players as well."We started the season with seven wins and that a difficult moment for everyone, let alone if you lose four times."On Salah's form, Slot added: "I don't know if it's sharpness or not."It's so difficult for me to say why this is – I could come up with a few reasons, which I'm not sure that is the reason. But I think in general, in football players miss chances, and Mo is a human being as well."We are not used to him missing chances, let alone a few in a row, but these things can happen."What could have to do with it, I have no clue if it does, but I could come up with if it's easier to finish a chance if you are 3-1 up than if you are 1-0 down."But maybe that is completely not true for him. But the main thing is Mo has always scored goals for our club and the last thing I worry about is Mo starting to score goals again because that is what he has done his whole life."That is what I expect him to do in the upcoming weeks and months for our club as well."Salah has started all eight Premier League matches so far this season, but his place in the line-up against Brentford is under threat after the Reds put their best performance of the season without the former Roma man on Wednesday.
