With Rahmat Shah's unbeaten century and a record partnership with Sadiqullah Atal, Afghanistan achieved their biggest target in ODI cricket history, securing a spectacular 6-wicket victory over Ireland.With this victory, Afghanistan won the fifth and final ODI, taking the five-match series 4-0. The first match of the series was abandoned due to rain.While chasing Ireland's massive target of 299 runs, Afghanistan lost both their openers for 22 runs. Liam McCarthy showed both openers the way to the pavilion.However, Rahmat Shah and Sadiqullah Atal forged a historic 201-run partnership for the third wicket, steering the team towards victory. This is the highest partnership for the third wicket for Afghanistan to date.After Atal was dismissed for 98, Azmatullah Omarzai, who came in, played an aggressive innings of 24 off 14 balls. On the other hand, Rahmat Shah played a captain's knock of an unbeaten 143 off 133 balls, with the help of 13 fours and 2 sixes. This is also his best personal performance in his ODI career. Rahmat hit a four off the fifth ball of the 49th over to seal the victory for the team.Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, Ireland had posted a big total in their allotted 50 overs with Curtis Campher's excellent 96 runs and Harry Tector's half-century. Campher's 7 fours and 4 sixes off 84 balls put the team in a challenging position.In bowling, Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai and AM Ghazanfar provided early breakthroughs. Although Ireland's middle order batted steadily and scored 101 runs in the last 10 overs, it was not enough against the excellent partnership of Rahmat and Atal.
