India opener Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer were involved in a hilarious chat during their 118-run stand for the third wicket in the second ODI against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. After being asked to bat, India were reeling at 17 for 2, with captain Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli back in the hut cheaply.

Rohit Sharma (79) and Shreyas Iyer (61) rescued India, and notable contributions from Axar Patel (44) and Harshit Rana (24 not out) helped India post 264 for 9. The stump mic caught the conversation between Rohit and Iyer:Rohit Sharma: "Aae Shreyas, hoyega yeh! After being asked to bat, the start was challenging during the powerplay as the Australian pacers were exceptional, much like in the first ODI. Bartlett struck early, dismissing both Gill and Kohli in the same over. Hazlewood bowled with precision but was unlucky not to claim a wicket.

Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings with a century partnership, and the introduction of spin eased the batting conditions. However, Marsh returned to pace, and Starc removed Rohit, breaking the threatening partnership. India then lost Iyer to Zampa, who finished with four wickets, including Axar and NKR in the same over. At 226/8, India seemed on the brink of a collapse, but Harshit Rana and Arshdeep added a crucial 37-run stand for the ninth wicket, helping the team reach a more respectable total.
