England wins by 27 runs, and wins the series 2-1

A really gutsy win from England in the end, on a day where it seemed like it might get swallowed up by the narrative. Rohit Sharma was the star of most of the second innings, with a breathtaking 110-ball 138, while Virat Kohli played a fine 60-ball 74 as well.

However, England held its nerve, led by Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran, and ultimately it was enough for it to get over the line. Another fine series win for Harry Brook and Co., for India plenty more questions.

A series on the line

This series is tightly poised at 1-1, and India will be desperate to secure a series win today to end a tough white-ball tour with on a positive note.

India took the series opener by six wickets after a red-hot bowling performance saw it reduced England to 102/6, before Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar all scored fifties in the chase.

England, however, levelled the series with a nervy four-wicket win masterminded by an impressive display of short-pitched bowling followed by a masterclass in patience by Joe Root, who ended on 99 not out.
