TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police are anticipating a crowd of approximately 27,000 fans for the face off between the Indonesian national team and Vietnam for the 2026 AFF Cup at Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday night.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto said the number of audience is expected to rise compared to the match against Cambodia last week. At that time, around 18,000 tickets were sold, yet the actual attendance reached approximately 20,000 people.

"For this week, our friends at PSSI (Indonesian football association) have confirmed a 27,000-capacity for the game; it is likely to be a full house," Wikha said following the security briefing at Pakansari Stadium on Monday.

This, he said, has prompted authorities to tighten security measures, including additional parking areas around the stadium to prevent traffic congestion.

Meanwhile, the Head of Operations for the West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Teddy Suhendyawan Syarif, said a 1,102-member joint personnel—comprising the National Police (Polri), the Military (TNI), the Bogor Regency Government, and relevant agencies—has been deployed to secure the AFF Cup match.

This figure represents an increase of over 100 personnel compared to the security detail for the Indonesia vs. Cambodia match the previous week.

"Due to the high level of fans enthusiasm, there is clearly an increase in personnel. A total of 1,102 personnel have been deployed to secure the match between Indonesia and Vietnam," he said.

He explained that all personnel had participated in a security briefing and a tactical floor game exercise to ensure every officer understood their duties within their respective sectors.

Additionally, the police are preparing situational traffic diversion measures in coordination with the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency to alleviate traffic congestion leading to Pakansari Stadium.

Security arrangements also cover access routes for VIP and VVIP guests expected to attend the match, as well as security measures for the Vietnamese supporters arriving to watch the game.
