Alex Eala included in Strasbourg Open main draw

Alexandra “Alex” Eala has been moved into the main draw of the Strasbourg Open instead of competing in the qualifiers.

According to the WTA website, Eala will face a qualifier in the Round of 32 of the WTA 500 tournament, which is set to begin on Sunday in France.

Among the other players included in the main draw are Victoria Mboko, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Iva Jovic, Clara Tauson, Madison Keys, Liudmila Samsonova, Leylah Fernandez, and Marie Bouzkova.

Eala is coming off a third-round exit at the Italian Open after falling to world No. 2 Elena Rybakina, 6-4, 6-3, last Sunday.

The Strasbourg Open will be Eala’s fifth tournament of the clay-court swing.
