A true clash of icons is upon us, with names that simply roll off the tongue. It’s Vinicius Junior v Erling Haaland, Rodrygo v Haaland, Neymar v Haaland… Alright, it’s us being smart Alecs again, but actually, we’ve liked the look of several other guys in the ruby red jersey so far this World Cup too – especially Antonio Nusa, who stunned the Ivory Coast with an epic strike recently.Although some people still aren’t totally convinced by their upcoming opponents Brazil, who had to beat Japan the hard way in the Round of 32, nobody envies the Norwegians. The Selecao are still the clear favourites to prevail here, but does PP football tipster and top social media pundit Andy Robson agree? There’s also reason for optimism in the fact that Brazil haven’t looked entirely solid at the back, having previously conceded against both Japan and Morocco.Haaland was also the top scorer in qualifying with 16 goals, coming from 28 shots on target (3.57 per 90). He’s taken to the World Cup stage with ease, and I expect him to remain a major threat in this matchup.Bruno Guimaraes to assistAt the start of Saturday, only Michael Olise (five) had more assists at the World Cup than Bruno Guimarães (four). The Newcastle man has been a real creative outlet for this Brazil side in a midfield that otherwise hasn’t looked too impressive.Casemiro and Lucas Paquetá are obviously solid players, but they lack the urgency and creativity that Guimarães brings.Guimarães set up two goals across his 16 starts for Brazil in qualifying, averaging 1.43 chances created per 90. And that number has only increased, to 2.38 chances created per 90, at the World Cup, with an assist arriving in three of his four outings. His role on set pieces could prove crucial for Brazil given that Norway have conceded 4+ corners in all four of their matches, and Brazil have genuine aerial threats in the box for Guimarães to target, including Gabriel and Casemiro.Kristoffer Ajer to be shown a cardKristoffer Ajer hasn’t picked up a card at the World Cup yet, but he’s going to find this assignment tough, with the Brentford defender having to deal with Matheus Cunha and Lucas Paquetá in central areas if the expected XIs match reality.Ajer can operate across the backline, regularly featuring as a full back for Brentford during the recent campaign, but plays as a centre back for his country, which increases his appeal for a booking. In particular, Cunha is very effective at moving around a defence with his clever movement, often dropping deep and dragging one of the opposition centre backs with him to free up space for Rayan and Vinícius Junior on either flank.Cunha hasn’t quite shown his foul-winning ability at the World Cup so far, but this tends to be one of the stronger aspects of his game. He averaged 1.94 fouls won per 90 during the most recent Premier League campaign, and against the less mobile Ajer – who picked up four cards across 20 league starts last season – there’s rich potential for the busy Bee to see yellow at the very least.Brazil v Norway TipsErling Haaland 2+ shots on target inc. woodworkBruno Guimarães to assistKristoffer Ajer to be shown a cardA Bet Builder with these selections pays approximately 38/1 with Paddy Power.
