Following the continents of Africa, Europe and the Americas, all eyes are now on Asia-Oceania for the final biennial flag football regional championships of the year.From 24-26 October, the Fenghua Sports Center in Ningbo, People's Republic of China, will host a total of 28 teams as they compete for continental glory and the last six remaining spots for the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Düsseldorf, Germany.To represent the two continents, the tournament will begin with the teams from Asia and Oceania competing in separate round-robin events.The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) will then crown separate men’s and women’s champions from Asia and Oceania, with the top two teams and a third-place finisher advancing to the world championships. The top two teams after all games played will each advance to the quarter-finals and will play knock-out games until a winner is decided.That winner will qualify directly for the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships.The teams that don't progress to the knockouts will compete in a second round-robin to decide final placements.Just as with the women's tournament, the three competing teams from Oceania - American Samoa, Australia and New Zealand - will play each other twice in a three-team round robin. The winner after all games played will earn a berth for Düsseldorf, while the runner-up will meet the runner-up from the Asia tournament to decide who will clinch the third and final spot.Again, as with the women's event, the Asia winner will meet the Oceania winner to crown an overall regional champion.
