Both India batters, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, are playing cautiously against Jomel Warrican for now. A sensible approach, as the spinner, currently the only threatening bowler for West Indies, has troubled the Indian batsmen the most.

India captain steps up and immediately opens his account with a crisp boundary.

Undeterred by the wicket or a change in bowling, he attacks with intent, setting the tone for the innings.

Commentator's curse! Just as we were praising Sudharsan's knock he gets trapped in front of the stumps by Warrican. The ball just turned sharply and hit the backpad of the southpaw and he goes for the review. DRS shows the ball would have crashed into the stumps and Sudharsan goes for 87. The 193-run stand also comes to an end.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has done most of the attacking work so far, taking on the West Indies bowlers whether it’s spin or pace.

Now he’s slightly dialing back his aggression, letting partner Sai Sudharsan take the spotlight. Sudharsan is closing in on what could be his maiden Test fifty, a crucial innings given all the scrutiny on his form and place in the side.

It’s a smart, mature display from Jaiswal, balancing attack with support and showing he’s grown as a batter.

After a lot of criticism over the past few months, Sai Sudharsan seems to be finally cracking the code at No.3. Last match, there was a feeling that both Jaiswal and Sudharsan sort of missed out with the bat. They have made amends here with this fine partnership.

Sai Sudharsan and Yashasvi Jaiswal have made a steady start to the final session of the day. Jaiswal opened with a boundary off Roston Chase, after which Jayden Seales bowled a tight over, conceding just a single run.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan remain unbeaten at Tea. India are 220 for 1 in 58 overs.

The hosts did not lose a wicket in that session. And the West Indies bowlers were made to toil hard. Their shoulders dropped as Yashasvi played a chanceless knock. Sai Sudharsan was dropped once on 58, but he too has looked soild.

West Indies brought back Jayden Seales for an over before Tea, and Sai welcomes him with a crisply-timed cut shot.

Roston Chase has brought himself onto the attack. He has only bowled six overs so far. Shouldn't he bowling more when two left-handers are out in the middle?

A solid show from Yashasvi Jaiswal so far. And he has the habit of converting his hundreds into daddy hundreds. In fact, he has gone past the 150-run mark four times out of his six hundreds.

Can he do it once more?

Sunil Gavaskar, on air, is backing Yashasvi to make it big here. If he bats till close of play, he is going to make it big.

Lucky! Sai Sudharsan is lucky to be there. He plays a lazy shot Justin Greaves's over. And the ball balloons into the air. However, Jomel Warrican, at mid-wicket, is not able to hold on to it despite a good dive.

That's a wake-up call for Sai. He can't afford to be making such mistakes.

HUNDRED for Yashasvi Jaiswal. He flicks Khary Pierre for a double to bring up his hundred.

The entire Indian dressing room is up on its feet. Yashasvi kisses the India badge on his helmet as he celebrates the hundred in style. He sends a heart to the crowd, which is up on its feet.

This is Yashasvi's 7thTest hundred. He has been in some form in whites despite all the chatter about his white-ball selection snubs.

Sai Sudharsan senior statement, Dinesh Karthik, heaps praise on the left-hander's work ethic. Karthik says Sai is keen on doing well at this level. However, he warns him that there is a fine line between desparation and determination.

Meanwhile, Ian Bishop, who is on air, points out that Sai has been given the backing by Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill.

There was plenty of focus on Sudharsan after his failure in the first Test in Ahmedabad. Questions were asked about his place in the side. But, captain Shubman Gill and the team management backed the youngster from Tamil Nadu.

He has looked the part so far. Playing on the back foot against spin has brought down his downfall a couple of times. Today, he has been more decisive with his footwork.

Can he push on and get a big one?

Yashasvi Jaiswal, meanwhile, is nearing his hundred .

Sai Sudharsan is starting to show more intent in his stroke-play, which should boost his confidence. He first drove Jomel Warrican through extra cover for four, followed by another boundary off Khary Pierre through mid-off. Promising signs for India, and a bit ominous for the West Indies.
