Everton made a late approach to sign Real Betis’ Abde Ezzalzouli in the summer window.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, via Sport Witness, who are reporting that Betis received a €43m bid from Everton for the forward.

The report goes on to claim that the offer was a €35m in fixed fee plus the rest as bonuses, but Betis requested €60m, which is Ezzalzouli’s release clause.

Manchester United plan to bolster their backline in next year’s summer transfer window.

Manchester United striker Chido Obi is set to join Eredivisie side Willem II on loan, subject to registration.

The Denmark Under-21 international made eight senior appearances for United under Ruben Amorim during the 2024-25 campaign, but did not feature last term and only made the bench once.

Instead, Obi played regularly for United’s Under-21s and helped the club reach the FA Youth Cup final. Across 37 appearances in all competitions, Obi scored 20 goals.
