🚨 Total scandal! Egypt rages at VAR after going out to Argentina

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) dropped a bombshell by issuing a scathing official statement, reported by Sky Sports, after their national team's elimination in the round of 16. The "Pharaohs" officials held nothing back and pointed directly at the refereeing over the controversial match against Argentina.

"The Egyptian Football Association cannot remain silent in the face of the refereeing decisions witnessed during the match against Argentina, as well as the failure to make proper use of the video assistant referee system," the body said bluntly in the statement.

Tensions kept rising as the hours went by, as they believe there were glaring errors impossible to ignore. According to the federation, those mistakes ended up completely distorting a match that had been extremely close and intense.

On that point, the official statement added: "Several key incidents raised serious doubts and left deep questions about the consistency and fairness of decisions that directly influenced the course of the match."

With tensions at a boiling point, the EFA is already preparing a formal complaint to submit to FIFA in the coming hours. The Egyptian team bows out of the World Cup full of anger and convinced that the story could have been very different.
