Man Utd ace confirms club have made a signing before official announcement, ‘Happy he’s come…’

Manchester United are revelling in the hope and optimism that comes with the pre-season, and Leny Yoro might have got a bit carried away in ‘announcing’ a signing before it’s official!

Man Utd began their pre-season with a goalless draw against Leeds that saw the positive debut of Matheus Cunha, Bendito Mantato, and Diego Leon’s first step in English football.

Except for Ayden Heaven dominating, however, there wasn’t much to write home about, which means the focus is on the USA tour.

Before that, Leny Yoro, who was instrumental vs Leeds as well, effectively confirmed that Man Utd have made their second signing of the summer before the official announcement.

Leny Yoro confirms Man Utd signing

So far, Man Utd have only signed Matheus Cunha, while Diego Leon was secured in January, officially arriving in July.

United’s agreement for Bryan Mbeumo has also been secured, and he is expected to be on the flight with the Man Utd squad for the USA tour.

However, United are yet to announce the agreement, let alone the signing, so the fact that Yoro was eager to confirm his arrival after the game against Leeds will make some eyes roll at Carrington!

Speaking in the mixed zone to the Scandinavian Supporters’ club after the game, Yoro said, “Bryan is a very good player, and I am very happy that he is coming to us. “That’s my guy, and I am waiting for him now. It has taken some time, but he is here now.”

Although Mbeumo’s announcement is expected to be a matter of when, and not if, this is still quite a thing for Yoro to say about a player who’s still, technically, a Brentford player.

Yoro can form a connection with Bryan Mbeumo

It might seem weird to many that Yoro can form a connection with Mbeumo, but the Frenchman showed exactly why that could be the case against Leeds.

Yoro’s ball-playing ability has come on leaps and bounds since his move to Old Trafford, and against Leeds, the way he played those long switches of play was a sight to behold.

Mbeumo is someone who likes to run the channels and attack the half-space between the striker and the right wing, so he will be the recipient of Yoro’s passes often.

Much like what Victor Lindelof used to do occasionally for Marcus Rashford, Mbeumo and Cunha can get to the end of those passes from Yoro to create quick scoring opportunities.

Yoro will also be one of the first people Mbeumo will find comfort in since they both speak French, so the understanding on the pitch should develop quickly too.

He clearly can’t wait for him to come!
