Alex Eala continues to impress even after her exit from the US Open.

It also ended the North American hard court season for Eala, who won her first WTA title in Washington D.C. last month.

Although Eala was not able to make a deep run at the US Open, she has still been praised after being spotted at the Billie Jean King National Center.

Ajla Tomljanovic praises Alex Eala for watching Coco Gauff vs Iva Jovic in person

After beating Eala, Jovic was defeated by Coco Gauff in the fourth round and former US Open quarter-finalist Ajla Tomljanovic revealed who she spotted during this match.

Tomljanovic, who has already ended her 2026 season, reported on The Big T Podcast that Eala was present on Arthur Ashe Stadium to watch this match live, something she praised the Filipina for.

"Last night I was at the Gauff-Jovic match live and you know who was there in the same suite was Alex Eala," said Tomljanovic. "I thought this was so cool, she just had a heartbreaker a few nights ago against Iva Jovic and in a few days she is watching the match she should have sort of played in.

"I thought back to myself, she is a much sort of more mature person than me, because I would have probably still been in my room ordering room service."

Gauff's former coach Brad Gilbert responded, "This is very interesting. I know she's really good friends with Jovic, was she supporting her game or was she learning and trying to figure out? Because I did say that I thought Coco was going to win easy."

Tomljanovic added, "I can't tell you that I saw any, like she wasn't strongly supporting one or the other, I think she was there to see what the match will look like and I think curiosity. She must just love tennis, because there's much to do on a Monday night."

After watching this match, Eala revealed that she was rooting for Gauff in the women's singles draw at the US Open now.

What is next for Alex Eala after the US Open?

Eala has been very busy during the North American hard court swing, and she will now have a couple of weeks away from the match court.

The next tournament Eala will play is the Singapore Open, the WTA 500 event where Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva and Amanda Anisimova are also entered.

After returning to the WTA Tour, Eala will then skip the China Open to represent the Philippines at the Asian Games in Japan.

Eala won a bronze medal at the last Asian Games in 2022, and she will be hoping to upgrade this to gold in Nagoya.
