While thousands are watching the historic NFL Melbourne game for the sports, there are thousands more watching it for the legendary performance line-up.

US exports the Jonas Brothers lead the halftime show of the NFL game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. But it almost didn’t happen after brother Joe Jonas missed his flight to Australia.

Jones Brothers win crowds over with John Farnham favourite

Nobody fear, all three Jonas Brothers managed to make it for their cracker half-time show at the MCG.

The group brought the house down with a cover of Aussie music legend John Farnham’s You’re The Voice. Those three words won any Aussies in the crowd of 100,000 over immediately.

Before they belted out the tune, Nick Jonas had a message for the OG performer John Farnham. “We love you John Farnham,” he yelled into the microphone.

Fans were quick to jump online and praise the brothers for performing the classic Aussie tune.

“Jonas Brothers understood the assignment?! You’re the voice! Aussie classic!” one wrote.

“Whoever told the Jonas Brothers to sing You’re the Voice deserves a raise. That’s how you win the crowd!” another said.

The excitment in the stadium was loud and clear. Thousands of voices could be heard singing along during the broadcast as the brothers belted out the famous chorus.

The musical trio made up of brothers Joe, Kevin and Nick, opened their performance with their hit song Burnin’ Up. The group wore matching black bomber jackets.

They then started singing their song Sucker, before getting into their latest single Play This When Sad.

After breaking out into a cover of The Voice, they threw it all the way back with their version of Year 3000, which was the first song that gave them huge commercial success.

It comes just hours after Joe Jonas finally landed in the country after missing his connecting flight in Dubai. Fans worried that his missed flight would mean the halftime show wouldn’t go ahead as planned but that crisis was avoided!

The trio were supposed to attend a fan event in Melbourne ahead of the game on Thursday night, but fans were shocked to see only Kevin and Nick on the stage when they arrived at the Kickoff Festival.

When asked where frontman Joe was, they played a video of him explaining that he was stuck in Dubai after missing his connecting flight.

“I was delayed in London, flying out of there... I think there was a signal issue, so every single flight was delayed or cancelled,” he said in the video.

“I was supposed to get on a plane that would land in time for my connection from Dubai to Melbourne, but I landed at 10am, and my (connecting) flight took off at 10am.”

Nick quickly jumped in after the video, reassuring fans at the event that Joe was already on a flight and was due to land “in a few hours.”

Despite his brothers’ confirmations, fans will be holding their breaths until the moment Joe Jonas appears on stage during that halftime show.

The group did not confirmed yet if Joe was in the country this morning, however, a picture posted to his Instagram implies he is, in fact, in Melbourne.

Cody Simpson sings stunning rendition of the national anthem

Simpson performed a beautiful rendition of the Australian national anthem to a crowd of 100,000 American and Australian football at the game’s 10:30 kick-off.

It is the singer’s first performance sing being forced into vocal rest after suffering from a “serious haemorrhage” on one of his vocal cords in May.

Earlier this week, Simpson confessed he was nervous to sing the anthem although, we couldn’t tell!

“I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t. The MCG is a pretty daunting place when it’s full,” he told The Hit Network’s Carrie & Tommy.

“I sang the national anthem to a sold-out AFL crowd at the Grand Final, so I’m going to do it the exact same way. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

The US national anthem will be sung by US rock band Infinity Song.

The group performed a soft acoustic version of the anthem, equip with a simple guitar melody.
